One aspect I did not initially realize about EV Charging was network roaming. I first signed up with EVgo to charge a friend's EV I borrowed. When I bought my car I got some free charging on the Ford Blue Oval charging network, which is mostly Electrify America, ChargePoint, and FLO. I signed up with ChargePoint due to the charger at work not being listed.
During my first trip to Canada, I noticed not all FLO chargers were on the Ford network, so I signed up with FLO. It turns out the chargers excluded were part of the eCharge Network. I started to be aware of roaming and leveraged it at Electric Circuit stations in Quebec. FLO also has stations in the US and ChargePoint also has stations in Quebec.
For an upcoming trip I joined Electrify America to get the reduced pass+ rate. Several of the chargers I will be using are part of the Blink Network, so it should be covered via ChargePoint. I have to be careful as ChargePoint having a roaming agreement with FLO does not mean I can access partners of FLO, like eCharge Network stations (which are listed as FLO stations in Plugshare).
I wondered what stations I can use and it turns out I have a big overlap. I had to do multiple Google searches to get some of the information.
Electrify America -> ChargePoint, EVgo, Greenlots, EV Connect, and Sema Connect.
Mobile App shows Electrify America stations only.
ChargePoint -> Blink, Electrify America, EVgo, and FLO.
Mobile App shows other networks.
Filters for BC Hydro, Blink, ChargePoint, EV Connect, EVgo, FLO, Greenlots, and SemaCharge.
Electrify America stations are shown but can not be filtered directly.
FLO -> ChargePoint, Greenlots, Electric Circuit, eCharge Network, and BC Hydro EV.
