After an at-home software update, I started having issues with charging “faults” which required me to unplug and plug in my car every 30-45 minutes. After taking my car into the dealership and having several wired updates done my car now takes over 24hrs to charge to full. Is anyone else noticing their charge time being doubled?

May need to provide some details, like what home charger are you using, what is its amperage limit, is there a chance you may have set its amperage limit lower?

Would be interesting to hear what your EVSE is capable of and what it is reporting it is charging at. I haven't seen anyone on here complain about charging rate changes for at home charging.

I’ll look into it, however, I’ve had the vehicle about a year and never had any issues until after the software updates. I drive my car quite a bit for work, often needing to charge during the day because I need additional range in a single day. I don’t know if others’ daily use hasn’t been affected because whether it’s 4 or 8 hours to charge they have that time at night rather than going from full charge 12-14 hours to 24-28 hours. I haven’t modified anything on my end.

What charger are you using.? Ford Mobile charger or aftermarket? If it is the Ford unit then what lights are displayed on the EVSE? There has been, what appears to be,a run on Ford mobile charger issues. If you are using an aftermarket charger then I would suggest trying the Ford Mobile charger to see if the charging issue is eliminated. Also is your charging location still entered correctly? Some people had to reprogram after their update.

No, in short, this is not normal. Mine charges as fast as the day I bought it on my ChargePoint Home Flex.

Hello, Nate! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this charge concern. Thanks!

Since you're using 2 different L2 chargers (home and work), it's easy to isolate whether it's a charger problem or a car problem. Record the start/end range and time for a session on each charger to measure the average miles added per hour (normally somewhere in the 18-25 range). If you're getting a similarly low number on both chargers (like 5 or 10 or something), then it's likely the car. But if work is normal while home is way down, it's likely the home charger.
