Charging port door warranty?

Does anyone know if the charging port door (the plastic part) is covered under warranty if broken?

It got damaged while reversing out of the garage. The metal plate dented the body and fell off. And the lock and another piece in the center of the plastic part look broken.

If it's due to external damage and not the fault of the product it's unlikely to be covered by the bumper to bumper warranty.

Not only has it reminded me after unplugging in the garage, the port door accidentally released once while driving (possibly I hadn't fully engaged the latch upon closing).

The dash notification is hard to miss.
