New to electric vehicles . Getting my Mach e route in a couple weeks. Did anyone use an electrician outside of the Ford recommended one? Can anyone recommend one for Oceanside CA?

Get quotes for 240V installs from a couple of electricians.

Check with your utility company to see if they offer a discount by getting a separate meter or TOU (time of use) plan.

When I got mine installed a couple of years ago, I had 3 electricians bid on the job and the price ranged from $500 to $1600.

My utility company (SCE) suggested a separate meter installed but my electrician said it's only beneficial if you have a full on EV battery to charge. My car is a PHEV.

Also make sure if any permits are needed, to have the electrician pull them.

Your install will vary in cost tremendously depending on distance from the meter, sub panels, conduit runs, and amount of wiring.

My new house has the meter on the same wall as my garage so it will be uber cheap when I get my EV....

I used an electrician that only does EV charger installs. He was fast, about an hour, and the cost including parts was $500. He's making a killing.

Used a local electrician to do the install for $200 after I failed to do it myself. My house was setup (box, conduit, etc) for everything and just needed the wiring, plug, and breaker.
