I use Safari on my iPhone, and until today, never had an issue accessing macheforum.com

But today, CloudFlare redirects, says to wait 5 seconds, and then hangs, never loading the forum, making it inaccessible via Safari.

Perhaps the site admins should look into this, as most ISPs issue dynamic IP addresses, which could be tripping up CloudFlare.

I had to login with Firefox just to make this post.

FWIW, it’s now loading in Safari since I posted this.

Hosting isn't normally done dynamically, it's gonna be static 99% of the time. Your IP, however, could very well be dynamic. Cloudflare is just a web access firewall (WAF) to make sure you're not attacking the website. If one of the dynamic IPs assigned to you has been known to perform these attacks, it could be that CF is checking to make sure you're not attempting that on this site. If the check isn't working correctly for you, try a different browser or do a hard refresh (shift F5). Lastly, it could also be that Cloudflare is having issues.

Do you use a VPN? When my Surfshark is set to NYC it sometimes fails to load some pages randomly.

Very common for VPNs to be flagged as they are often used as shields for "less than desirable activity". They are very legitimately used as well, but WAF triggers are common with VPNs.

Are you on the latest iOS? Could it be Apple Private Relay? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212614

I'm always having to solve the captchas on my test laptop with the Monterey betas. My everyday laptop is fine.

I keep having the exact same issue and was going to send a note to the admins or post here though I wasn't sure that was ok since it isn't a Mach E question per se but rather a forum question. But thanks the OP for posting and thanks for the replies. I have an iPhone with iOS v15.0.2 installed. I don't think I am running a VPN right now but I could try rebooting the phone. And as the OP says, it doesn't actually redirect in 5 sec so I switch to Firefox. Now I do work for a big company and my phone is "managed" by our company using MobileIron so it's possible that's a factor.

Cloudflare checks many things and the reason it blocks you can be different for everyone. As stated before VPN is one of them, the other common ones are incorrect date and time zone and JavaScript being disabled or restricted.

This is why I suggested trying a different browser because if you have strict settings for JavaScript it may not redirect to the website as bots commonly don't use JavaScript.

Thanks, yes; I was referring to users IP addresses. All is back to normal now, thankfully.

pretty sure the private VPN stuff in 15.x is Safari-only and is on by default so as @mdolan92869 mentioned, that's probably it.

which is weird because CloudFlare is one of the Private Relay providers but it certainly tracks.

I was having no problem back when you reported this but now I'm having the same problem and can't get in using my phone. Hey @Administrator, what gives?

do you have Private Relay enabled? (I don't even know if it can be turned off.)

My Cloudfare issue comes and goes with no obvious pattern. When it hits it renders Safari unusable for this forum so I switch to Firefox until Safari is usable again. Frustrating.

Not that I know of. Most importantly I had made no changes to the phone. Safari on my iPhone just wouldn’t load the site yesterday despite all other sites working fine. Today it’s working again.

Yes, Private Relay can be turned off. I'm on my Mac and not my iPhone right now, but the steps are something like this.

  1. Open settings
  2. Click on Apple ID on top
  3. Click on iCloud
  4. There is an entry for "Private Relay (Beta)", uncheck that
If it's already unchecked and you're having issues, ?‍♂. Call Tim Apple.
