Forum - I need some help on making a decision. After lots of back and forth and consternation between Infinite Blue, Rapid Red, and Carbonized Gray, I landed on Infinite Blue as I don't think I'm really a red car person and my current car (camry) is gray and so it felt too boring to me. I liked the IB, but I always wondered if it was too muted or too gray for a Mustang!! My IB Premium ER AWD does not yet have a production date.

Recently I've started seeing all the Grabber Blue FEs on here and it's making me wonder if I should try and find an orphaned Grabber Blue FE and cancel my existing IB. I really like the Grabber Blue, but is it too bright? I don't know!

I can't make up my mind!

Also, just FYI I've not seen either of these IRL, so for those of you that have seen both, what did you think of them?

What do you guys and gals think I should do?

Help!!!

Ok. If you can’t decide on exterior color alone, and price isn’t a consideration, think about the entire “look” of the car - red brake calipers. Contrasting stitching. Black headliner. Body colored mirror caps & lip mouldings. Do you prefer space gray or black interiors (I’m not sure, but I don’t think FEs came with space gray interiors). Which car, as far as overall appearance, do you like more? Is it important to you to be able to say “Mine is a First Edition”?

This is all really good advice!

Generally, I really like the differences in the FE over the Premium: contrast stitching, colored mirrors, black ceiling, etc. I prefer the black interior, so no issue there.

I actually don't care about it being a "first edition" so I'm not going for that. It's really just the color!

Part of me feels like I have been too boring with car colors in the past and so getting a MME is an opportunity for something different. But is that being impractical? I dunno.

Also, increased cost of FE over Premium isn't a huge issue for me. A dealer adding significant ADM on top of MSRP would be though. So this may hinge on finding an FE without it.

I have never ordered a car before, much less a $60K car, and this is likely the last time I will. My wife told me to just get what I want (hence the GB FE). She also told me I should get the whole car covered with PPF rather than try to figure out which panels would be most susceptible to chips & scrapes.
Gonna renew her contract..........

Also, The Mach e is located in the back of the building by service. Kyle also said he has one coming in. One note, they are trying to get 10K over sticker.

I’ve seen all of the following in person. I ended up with a Rapid Red FE because I loved the interior of the FE’s.

Grabber Blue - a head turner for sure. A little too bright and under saturated for what I typically like..... but it’s going to be the most unique color on the road.

Carbonized gray - my original choice. It did feel a little “boring” seeing all the photos online, but in person it’s special. It has this depth to it that doesn’t really translate in photos. If I didn’t get the red I would have sought the gray

Infinite Blue - the most finicky color. Looks really great in the shade but loses it’s luster in the sunlight in my opinion. Will look unique but understated on the road as there are only a few other cars with similar color.

Shadow Black - the one I hoped would look best but is the most boring to me. Not enough contrast to make it really wow. The black with the taillights on is magical (black + red) and turn signals look great, but in my opinion most all the colors look super cool with the rear lights on and during turn signaling.

Rapid Red - the one I liked least in the beginning (pictures). I’m not really a “red guy” but I have owned two purple Cadillacs and an orange Camaro. Red satisfies the “look at me” bug but isn’t as “out there” as Grabber Blue. Red looks killer in person, but on the FE I wish there was a little bit more black in the design to break up the red from the side profile view. The Red looks the most like a sports car to me. Maybe it was all the marketing shots that wore on me, but I realized that with red I would never have the urge or need to vinyl wrap the car a new color (which was high on my list of priorities originally).

Iconic Silver - a very solid color choice. Great looking in person. I hate silver cars so it wasn’t an option for me, but this car looks like a chiseled machine on the road.

Didn’t get a chance to see any of the white’s (space or star) in person. My wife wanted Star White, and I imagine from the photos that it is pretty sleek and a solid choice.

Hopes something I said helps out ??

just buy both.

do I have to solve every problem on this site? seesh!

?

kidding aside pictures and reports suggest that GB does adjust well to different lighting conditions so it's not necessarily "too bright" but that is a personal thing ultimately just like choosing between the multiple grays ends up being a personal thing.

I have a Premium arriving in about 4 weeks. I have been diligently looking for a Rapid Red FE. There are a few out there but all the dealers want 5-10K over MSRP. To me personally that too much money for the few differences. Also I tried to order the FE, but was too late and all gone.

If money is no option, then heck yeah go get yourself a Grabber Blue FE off the lot. There are a few popping up around the county from cancelled orders. Just be ready to pay at least $5k over sticker for a trim line that’s already several thousand more expensive than Premium.

For the rest of the colors, you can choose between red, white, black, and several shades of gray.

Yeah...if I can miraculously find one without AMD, then I might pull the trigger. But $5k just because...no thanks I'll just take my IB and wrap it, lol.

Rather than pay an extra $10K, I'd order GT and just wait a few months. Added bonus: body colored roof.

If I didn’t already have another blue car I am keeping, and if I didn’t live somewhere where it got very hot and/or at least had covered parking (because of the black interior), I’d go for a Grabber Blue. I think it looks fantastic with those red brake calipers.

I got a Rapid Red Premium and am overall very happy with it. The key with the Premium is that it has a lot of black trim, it complements the red very nicely. However, the Rapid Red can look a little too light to me in direct, bright sunlight.
