Happy Friday folks! I was trying to search on the forums because I thought I remembered seeing a post about Ford giving 2 key fobs now with all new MMEs due to PaaK issues, but couldn't find it. Can anyone confirm or was I just dreaming?

I know some dealers sound like they were giving complimentary ones, but wasn't sure if that was Ford official policy or if Ford Support is aware / can help...

I got mine 2 weeks ago, only one fob. Paak is working quite well for me, though. Remember, dealers are suffering with very low inventory right now, which is putting a squeeze on profits. You're about as likely to find a dealer willing to give you an extra fob for free as you are to find a dealer willing to sell you a MME, or any new vehicle, below MSRP.

You can argue that Ford should supply 2 fobs, but it is important to separate Ford corporate from your Ford dealer in this case. The dealer still has to pay Ford for the new fob, and pay a tech to program it, and Ford corporate will not reimburse them.

I don't believe that it's a Ford policy. All you can do is ask and bring up all the issues with PaaK as why you want one.

My Wife’s PAAK didn’t work in her Purse so we requested another FOB from our dealer. They didn’t put up an argument about it but then gave us one excuse after another and after waiting for a month we started to check with other dealers in our area. To make a long story shorter, we found another dealer that could provide and program a FOB for us and then they charged it back to the dealer we bought the car from.

The sales manager at AutoNation Ford in Scottsdale proactively ordered a second fob for me (free with free programming), which has already arrived. She is doing it for all MME buyers, but it is NOT a Ford authorized deal, the dealership is absorbing the cost. Keep in mind this is Scottsdale, so the clientele tends to be buying the highest end vehicles, so YMMV.

I have not had time to get Mister Ed over there for the programming yet.

I think it's up to the dealer, I haven't read it was a ford policy. I wish.
