I was coming through a construction zone early on Friday morning. The 65 mph speed was reduced to 55 mph by a dirty sign that was old but readable.
The car identified the sign as 85 mph (I could see it on the dash) and the car sped up significantly. It was a bit scary as there were concrete barriers on each side.
Thankfully I was aware and applied the brake.
Has anyone seen anything like this and is there a way to report to Ford? It’s my first such issue in 2 months of driving the MME.

I get this all the time too, sign says 35 but blocked partially by a tree and the car thinks it says 85

I'm having just the opposite problem out here on several highways in CA. Where there used to be road construction (several months to more than a year ago - or more!), the Mach E suddenly slows down to 55, but there are only 65 MPH signs posted; no 55 MPH signs anywhere to be seen. Must be grabbing info from the maps. I'd love to report this as well.

Speed sign recognition has always been implemented super bad. I turned off ICC after first try.

Being as there are no speed limits above 80 mph in the US, to my knowlege... I wonder why Ford can't just program the software to have a max recognition of 80mph. Therefore if the computer "thinks" the sign says 85mph, it should assume it is acctualy 35, etc.

Not that it really matters, but 85 on a toll road between Austin and San Antonio. Yes, it is fun to drive in a Mach-E.

The other problem is when the Mach E reads the slower speed on a ramp or frontage road.

BTW there have been multiple reports and thread on this. For example

FWIW, our Volvo also misreads signs fairly often. I think we may have gotten an 85 mph a couple times, it has on occasion read the I-5 sign as 15 or 5 mph, but vehicle distance does always take priority. It also has no concept of school days and will latch onto those 20 mph signs all the time, but I let it slide on that one. :)

Its a shame, I never really liked cruise control, but the % of errors in this tech has probably gotten me to use it even less, too many variables to misread the signs.

I haven't experienced the car misreading a sign, but I have had it pick up the sign for a separate parallel road that was 10 mph faster.

I get the speed reduction for an area that was under construction a year or more ago on a fairly regular basis. There's a link in the navigation section of sync4a for reporting map errors, I wonder is the non-existent construction zone qualifies?

I also found if the construction zone sign is on the left side, it does not read it

Hey there, Steven. Go ahead and send us a private message with the VIN and mileage of your Mach-E. I'd like to look into this for you. Thanks!
