Curt Hitch - yes or no?

Hello. I am in a pinch and need some quick advice.

I have a 2023 MME GT and requested that a hitch be installed for a bike rack. I am dumb, not realizing that this is an aftermarket hitch and installation and didn’t confirm what they were going to order.

The aftermarket analyst ordered a curt hitch and is taking it to the company that installs the hitches for our business. (They are great!)

So my questions - should I go with the Curt Hitch or wait for the Stealth Hitch.

How well do Curt Hitches work? How do they look? I am scheduled for installation tomorrow.

I googled an image and it looks like they show all the time on the mme, but it doesn’t bother me, unless it impedes with the cameras and other goodies!

Should I consider a Stealth Hitch instead? If so
I will need to wait until the beginning of July or find another installer.

ps: I am recovering from hip surgery and urgently want to get my fat @$$ back on my road bike. I am not a big customizer, and drove my Jeep Wrangler until it died, without any mods, other than replacing a fender or two… and I love this cool new ride… totally in love!

I like mine... Use it every few months for a cargo rack and it has been alleged I have towed a trailer with it. Works well.

I dunno about Curtis.... I self-installed a Torklift receiver for my bike rack... and alleged occasional utility trailer use.

I'm pretty sure mine is a Curt. It was installed at U-Haul. I purchased a black rubber cover to go in the hitch when not in use and it looks okay to me. The hitch does show all the time and they have to trim off a little of the underside of the bumper, but it looks super clean.

I have a CR1 so no automatic hatch opening with the foot swipe. If you have that option, the Curt may get in the way of the sensor.

I didn't get any wiring installed, just the hitch for the bike rack. The U-Haul installer didn't want to do trailer wiring either and advised against it. He said they had too many problems with Mach-E trailer wiring.

I purchased the seasucker monkey bars with the bike rack accessories and it works like a dream, and I can remove them and store them entirely in the frunk when not in use.

I've had a CURT® 13480 - Class 3 Square Concealed Trailer Hitch with 2" Receiver Opening for a couple years now. I use it for my Thule Dual Fold bike rack. So far perfect!
