Customer Order Verification?

So I got this email from my dealer claiming Ford has released new order requirements, to make sure people really want to keep their orders. I'm supposed to get in touch with them to verify I still want my car by Friday or they'll cancel the order.

I don't really mind doing so, though it does vaguely feel like some kind of dealer shenanigans.

Anyone else gotten anything like this from their dealer?

Some folks have had dealers ask to copy their DL to make sure a real person was behind the order vs. the dealer using fake names to order more cars so they can sell them with a mark up later. That's the only thing I've seen.
