Installed a Nextbase 622GW with front & rear cameras almost the moment I got Stangy and when the dealer did the pano roof recall I got them to route the rear cable properly inside headlining such that it is, it’s a great system, wouldn’t be without it.

Old thread, so I doubt most of these folks are still thinking about DashCams I installed the FitCamX Dual-channel 4k/1080 unit in my Rally last night. Very clean images and very simple installation:

What makes me wonder why would you buy FITCAMX for the money they ask for while you can buy same thing from China directly for example by Aliexpress.com much much cheaper.

Price is from 64$ to 124$ depending on variant. I think that this is exactly what FITCAMX does - they get their dashcams from China and sell them for higher price.

Mostly because I’d like to get the product this century. AliExpress ships to Hawaii via Uranus, Neptune, Ceres, Haumea, and Makemake. Seriously, it’s beyond slow and the successful arrival rate (at all) is somewhere under 10%.

I already bought a great traffic cam. Same company as my leaf had and my wife's Honda CR-V has. Autovox V5. Replaced the rear view mirror. The V5 is super sensitive and records if the car is touched. The older v2 autovox is less sensitive but does not vibrate like the V5 does. The V5 vibrates so cars in the regular mirror mode are not as clear as the side mirrors. Not a huge deal.

When you say you replaced the rearview, did you clip it over the top or use their adapter to completely replace the stock mirror? If you used the clips, does it bounce around/vibrate?

I installed a FitCamX found on Amazon and the company website. It replaced the plastic behind the rear view mirror, gets power from a factory connector, and once installed you can’t tell it’s there. Highly recommended and there are other chats in the forum on it.

My only nit with the install was that I placed the rear camera a few inches below the top of the rear window so it could be within the sweep of the wiper, but it kinda puts it pretty nearly square in the middle of my rearview mirror ;-) I'm hoping I'll get used to it

I feel like that will bug me too... Which wiper blade do you use? I switched to the 16" and still feel it'll be too low.

I haven’t seen the need for it, but I’ve also not tried one, so I don’t really know just how much help the lens could be.
