DCU financing

Has anyone financed with DCU? They offer a rate as low as 1.24% for 65 months provided you setup direct deposit. I'm trying to understand what the financing process is like with dealerships. Should i walk in with a cashier's check from the bank?

I have not, but generally they work directly with the dealer to fund the loan without you having to do anything. Just contact them and ask what the process is. But if you can get the $2,500 ford options rebate, that makes the 2.25% interest rate basically 0% as the interest charge is around $2,500 so you'd be getting an almost interest free loan but it also has the opportunity for you to turn the vehicle in after 3 years if you don't like it, like a lease (obviously damage applies here though). or just keep paying the same payment for another 3 years and the car is yours. You can also do options to start, get the $2,500 rebate and then refinance for a lower rate and double whammy it! but you lost the option to turn the car in and now just outright own it from the start.

You finance with the dealership and have the bank pay off the loan before the grace period is over to avoid a finance charge. At least, that’s how I did it last time. The dealer gave me a one week grace period and my credit union overnighted a check.

You probably want to see what Ford offers you, including the Ford Options.

We got 0.9% for 48 months. 1.9% for 60 months.

As to using external financing, when we've done it the dealer gives you an amount and the credit union hands you a check to give to the dealer.

I have used DCU for my current car, they did offer me a good rate and it has been fine. The onyl negative is the customer service is a bit slow
