Hello everyone, a bit of a rant here but I wonder how many people have similar issues with their ford dealer.
I have taken my car to West Herr Ford of Amherst for the past few months and every service visit gets worse than the last.
Currently, my car is getting a new rear drive unit (failed oil pump and I happened to drive quite a distance with it being failed). I picked up a rental car from Avis (Honda Civic) and am now being told that the Ford ESP that I have on the car won't cover a non-ford vehicle, which is funny because they just covered a non-ford vehicle last month! Anyway, I had used up the 10 days allotted by ESP and have called Ford BEV and they are now paying for my 2nd rental (Ford Edge). What's really funny is in my contract it doesn't mention ANYWHERE that it has to be a Ford vehicle, just that they cover 5$ less a day if its a "competitive make", ie. Honda. I called Ford Protect and they now have contacted my dealer basically saying that they are wrong. What's even funnier is they told me that they are paying for the Ford rental even though it's being paid for on MY credit card. I told my service advisor to explain the charge and he said its just a deposit, which I responded to by saying look at my receipt where it says 40 dollars a day for 3 days, total 120$. At this point when I get the car I'm not going to speak with him and go directly to the service manager.
TL;DR don't take your car here if you live in the Buffalo/Niagara area.
