You still get the $7500 on all other cars, they all have their issues, the near-perfect EV car is Tesla, people will tell you panel gaps, but that's history, still happens but it's rare.
My buddy's ioniq5 just got a new battery before he got his CA license plate!
If you like looking at the center console for things that should be in front of you. Despite marketing and fanbois like no other, tesla's "less is more" approach will always be less. Their ultimate goal isn't the ultimate car, it's software. The same thing any company with half a brain is shooting for (or in the case of palantir, shooting with). No android auto or carplay either, no thanks. If tesla is "perfection", it doesn't mean what you're assuming it does.

If ford offered the F150's 12" screen with physical AC controls, I'd take that over the poor selection they've got now. No software update or engineer trying to be cute can change the location of physical switches. Important info should ALWAYS be front and center, preferably focused at infinity on the windscreen.

Less isn't more.... it's less.

I think the EV credits in the Increase Inflation Act require a large component of USA part manufacturing. Will the ID4 qualify? I am not sure we know the answer to that. Just because it is assembled in the USA does not mean it will qualify.

No one knows what will qualify, to be honest, I was reading last month an article they were estimating that only 10-15% of the people who benefitted from the $7500 federal incentive will qualify if they were to purchase their cars after new revision applies in 2023, now that could be wrong or right, it depends about the true motive behind the law, initially, the $7500 was supposed to be a POS discount, so far it looks like that's not the case, if the motive is to indirectly tax people by making few qualify then few cars will actually qualify, if the motive is to benefit more people, I think we may see some updates because I am sure these companies source their stuff from one or two countries in the world, and most likely it won't qualify.

If you're dead set on an MME look at it this way

If you buy a 2022 before the end of the year, you may pay markup but it will be offset in part or whole by a guaranteed federal tax credit (assuming you have sufficient tax liability to take it).

If you wait to buy a 2023 after the 1st of the year, you'll pay a significant base price increase, possibly still pay markup (unless you order and confirm pricing), and potentially not have a tax credit available, whether due to component/manufacturing limitations or income limitations.

Assuming you will qualify under income limits, you could consider a Tesla Model 3. It will almost certainly qualify under manufacturing and component limits, and (current) base price for a RWD is comparable to a Select MME. If you don't need the CUV form factor, I'd say the Tesla is an altogether better car for that price.

Spend some time and research other makes as well. Remember that you're on an MME forum so we will all be biased towards it and against competitors, so take what you're reading with a grain of salt.

Thanks! I don’t know a Model 3 is almost guarantee for full tax credit. Is it right? That’s actually one of my other options, getting a model 3 now and wait a few more years to get a better upgraded MME to replace my 2nd ICE.
