Do you know when it cuts the power from precondition? If I set it to depart at 6am, will it stop drawing power right at 6am or go past that for a bit? I have an electric plan that is free nights until 6am so I was going to precondition until 6am even though I dont leave until 6:15-6:30.
The preconditioning of the battery is done well before 6AM. Then it preconditions the cabin. That is designed to be "ready" at 6AM. I don't recall if the vehicle shuts off exactly at 6AM or not though.

I used pre-conditioning for my Lightning a few times this winter with a 0600 departure time, but I would actually get into the truck later sometimes. I suspect the MME would be similar.

To answer your question, it seems to stay pre-conditioning the cabin for 15 minutes after your set time. That's just going off memory, so YMMV. I do remember going out at 0620 and the truck was off. At 0610 the heat pump is still chugging away. I never actually witnessed the 0615 shut off, but based on my two data points, it seems reasonable.

It will run for up to 15 minutes past the departure time, so until 6:15. However the bulk of the electricity used would be before 6:00. I would not worry about the small amount of electricity used between 6:00-6:15 to maintain cabin temp. It would be less than 0.5 kWh.
