Not true. Take your foot off the accelerator in 2 pedal mode and switch between modes you absolutely can tel the difference on a flat road that different levels of resistance are being applied depending on what mode. How are we still discussing this. It is obvious.
I did this experiment last week. Test conditions were Whisper, 2-pedal mode, flat road. Lift off accelerator pedal, no regen. Going down a hill in the same conditions: regen kicks in as soon as I lift off of the accelerator pedal. I had CarScanner up showing me the amount of regen in both modes just in case my seat of the pants accelerometer wasn't calibrated properly.

I already know that in Engage and Unbridle there will be regen as soon as I liftoff the accelerator pedal whether I am in 1 or 2 pedal mode. I was specifically addressing the assertion of "There is no regenerative braking when I release the throttle in 2PD." and pointing out that this scenario only occurs in Whisper mode and only if you are on a flat road.

But even when in whisper mode when you switch to neutral you can tell that the resistance is less. How do you explain that?

^^^ I like factual tests ;-). CarScanner doesn't lie.

You could test this without a scanner.

Go to 20 mph on a flat road in whisper, let off the accelerator and see how far you go before coming to a complete stop.

Repeat test in neutral.

What you may be “sensing” when you go into neutral is the click from the motor’s disengaging along with the “silence” of the motor turned off. This may make it appear that whisper is causing drag when it isn’t.

Or your road isn’t flat?

But it has been tested with the scanner and you can see it in the power meter (GT).

Here is a video I took a while back of all the modes and the power meter-

Because in neutral there's no electrons flowing in either direction. The motor(s) is/are just freely spinning. Drive mode at that point is irrelevant.

Ok. I now agree. Whisper VERY similar to neutral! I tried it more. I usually drive in engage mode and then slip it into neutral or L if I need more or less resistance approaching a signal. Was less familiar with whisper, but I agree it is very slippery
