I’ve had two negative reactions to my Mach-e in the 3 years I’ve owned it. It happens, although rarely

One was from a somewhat off kilter (being polite here) tourist who was screaming at the car because the backup beeps “hurt her ears” and physically blocked me to make the noise stop, then saw it had mustang logos and those really set her off. She was invited to never return by the grocery store manager.

The other incident was at an EV show where I had one of two MMEs on display. A thirty something guy got angry at mine (not the grabber blue one next to mine oddly) saying it wasn’t a mustang and how it was fraud. Apparently he came to the show just to complain about ev’s, my infinite blue Mach-e was a bonus. Anyway he got angry and left when I told him that unless he was Bill Ford, his opinion doesn’t matter.

Oh, the best thing about that show was a rare Tesla Roadster that made an appearance. Taken before the show got under way.

So far I haven't had any negative reactions but plenty of positive ones. I even spoke to a lady at the car wash who was driving a mustang convertible and she asked a lot of questions about the car and thought she might go with a Mach-e when it came time to trade in her Mustang. People really seem to like the grabber blue color.

Of course I live in Southern California where EVs are really quite common.

Mach-Es are still fairly rare in the wild in my area, so it gets a lot of looks. My kids love watching other drivers to see if they react to the car. The funniest interaction I've had was when we were side by side with an ICE Mustang. The guy was checking out the car and revving the engine, possibly wanting us to do the same (unless he knew). My wife thought it was hilarious and kept telling me to rev it! Luckily I haven't run into anyone completely unhinged like your tourist @Kamuelaflyer .

That's the only attractive Tesla ever built (by Lotus).

AFAIK I've not had any negative reactions to my Mach E. I like the fact that it's a Ford, doesn't scream EV, and seems to be less triggering than Teslas are.

Similar here. I still get questions about why my gas door cover is on the front left fender.

I’ve heard people tell their kids, it’s not a real Mustang when the say, look dad it’s a Mustang.

Who knows.... maybe the guy was having a bad day.
Yeah, I'd be having a bad day to if I realized I blew my money on a Tesla when I could of had a mach-e. Not a mach-e owner, but I do own another Ford that pisses people off when they realize in makes their vehicle look like a rip off.

The biggest negative I've experienced was on the freeway going through Dallas, some women in a Mercedes convertible flipped me the bird as they zoomed past. I don't know if it's because I was only passing at 80 in the 70 zone or if it was the EV.

Some people get upset with the Mustang moniker, but we usually tell them, "we didn't name it."

Most interactions with strangers have been positive.

I am fairly sure a couple was snickering at my backup beeper, when I was backing into a spot last night.

I wonder if they snicker when a truck reverses with the beeper going? Alternatively you could have disabled the beeper and then run into them when they complained they couldn't hear you. You can't win with some people. ;)

I’ve heard people tell their kids, it’s not a real Mustang when the say, look dad it’s a Mustang.
Well I think that's a long story, and it has always be, like all these comparisons between camaro, corvettes, mustangs, etc...
There will always be someone who dislike it, and that's ok!

Don't get me wrong I'd really LOVE to own and drive a mustang coupé, but I have two kids, and drives a lot, I want my trips to be comfy, the Mach-E is both look & comfort for the daily
When I could afford both a crossover and a coupé, I'd like the coupé to be a mustang too, and I'd like it to be an EV too, I am sure Ford will build one at some point

On point: my kids really love the poney! and they know it is a real Mustang ;)
