Disappointed with Mach-E charging procedures

Had my MME for 6 months. Set the charge level to 80% at home in the app. No problems for 25+ charges. However, awoke today (at home) to a 100% charge.
After a short bit of upset/panic feeling and checking my app to see it still has the “80% setting at home”, I quickly went to this forum.
I think I can chalk this up to gremlins. Right? Can I trust the MME to charge correctly next time?

Maybe yes, maybe no. If you just go an update like 3.6.2, that causes charging to 100%. Other updates might require you delete the location, charge for a few minutes, stop charging, and resave the location and the charge % and hours.

Set to charge to 90% at home. 4.2.1 update happened last night (from 4.1.2), car charged to 100% overnight. Went for a short drive, came back, plugged in and went to 100% again. Chargepoint charger, which I don’t configure to control charging.

Confirmed setting in app and in car are 90%. Selected charging profile location out of car, but since it’s at 100%, isn’t charging so can’t read the location. Will need to drive again, and reset it.

software is one thing I hope these legacy car companies improve on.
