So glad your install went well!
We actually recently did DIY PPF and the A pillars were one of the easiest parts, in my opinion. At least with the XPEL PPF, I'd do that portion again in a heartbeat. There were definitely some other areas that I'd rather have a professional do.
Then again, since Marlin is already going in for PPF, might as well have them do it.
@ChasingCoral Oh yeah and the whole not having an enclosed space thing is definitely an issue!

Decided to do the pillars and the bumper protector myself. The latter was very forgiving.

Just dropped Marlin off for PPF and ceramic. Detailer thought I did a pretty good job on these — or was being polite to the customer!

Have not done the pillars yet but I found the Bumper protector to be an easy install. Like you say, it was very forgiving. :)

What is the point of the screen protector? On a phone you might drop it but you hardly are going to hit the screen with something in the car.

It is mainly to have less obvious fingerprints and reflection of the screen...

Yeah like @Kamuelaflyer said, just one drop of dish soap in a sprayer full of water should work perfectly. I feel super confident about applying the driver screen when we get the car back, now that I know to use less soap!

I'm with you on the matte finish. I have that on my iPad and I VASTLY prefer it to gloss. It's a different feel for sure but I do art, 3D modelling, and all sorts of stuff on it and notice no degradation so I most certainly didn't have any issues with it on the car screen.

hahah yeah I give you 3 days tops!
Liquid Armour works great. reduces fingerprints and hardens the glass to H9 hardness, so not quite diamond resistant. Takes a few minutes to clean and apply. Let it dry for 30 minutes. in 24 hours it completely cures.

I've been using that on my cell phones for a few years. Makes the glass much more durable.

I just installed a tempered glass center display screen protector April 20th. After reading all the posts about using water, I was concerned that the seller instructions did not mention using any liquid. Using just their instructions and materials, (clean glass with wipe, go over with cloth dry wipe, use dust sticky paper) it was very easy to install the glass protector. They provide tabs to help align the screen protector over the volume knob and rest of the display.
Removed the back plastic sheet which exposes the adhesive side and started letting the glass slowly start to adhere to the display. They provide a still cardboard (2x4) to use to get any bubbles out.
After reading the instructions and getting all the materials and tools out, from start to finish took maybe 15 minutes.

Looking at this a day later, everything looks great, no dust or bubbles under the glass. Does not interfere with any interactions when using the touch features.
Seems much easier that the film and glass screens that required soapy water to apply

Very pleased with the end product.

Got this from Amazon in one day. About $22
