Ford is trying to bring LFP battery production to a new plant in Michigan. Congress has weighed in because the battery technology comes from. a Chinese company, CATL. From what I understand, Ford signed a license agreement with CATL, for their battery technology. Ford would own the facility and would be run by Ford, and use U.S. workers. Isn't that the idea to bring the supply chain to the U.S.? How is this different from what Tesla is doing?
