I was driving home today and when I pulled into the garage my passenger opened the door and you can hear this very loud click noise. We definitely didn't hit anything and I'm not sure what could have happened other than the cold weather.

Does this need a body shop or anyone have ideas of how to fix this?

Hi there! Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end. Thank you!

Take it to the dealer, your door isn't properly aligned it seems.

Mine just starting clicking today as well. Definitely no dents!
The body shop believes something came up from the bottom and cracked it. Who knows

Yeah I’d appeal that with Ford
Not sure how I could. The body shop thinks something must have hit it so it would be my word that I didn't break the door

This happened to my car with the driver door, but I would not describe it as a click. So maybe it is not the same thing. My door was popping and I saw it was rubbing at the bottom of the door. My dealer fixed it for no charge to me.

I started having this issue yesterday with my passenger door and I did lubricate the door check to no avail. Any other advice other than taking it to the dealer? My car is out of warranty and I could probably live with the issue.

Is there any other things I should be aware of? I didn't see any cracks or anything like that around where the door check comes out of the door.

I've seen with some other cars that they recommend tightening the door check.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

It's something with the design of the doors. Mine did it too. A couple of years ago, I had some part replaced under warranty on both doors (after the dealer tried adding additional lubricant, etc. to no avail), but it started doing it again a little bit several months ago.

I don't think it is something owners are causing. I have a 2006 Mustang that I am the original owner of. That car is 19 years old and has two large, heavy doors. Those doors are absolutely silent even after all this time, this is definitely something specific to the Mach-E's doors.

Mine is doing this too. There are a Couple of other threads on here about it. Some have some have cracked spot welds and need a new door, others seem to need new door checks or just lubed. I’ll be taking mine in soon for a diagnosis, the mobile tech that came out for updates lubed it but didn’t help.
