My ‘23 has been switching back to engage for a long time and often.

Today I caught it pretending to be a different mode…

Has there been a TSB for a ‘23 that fixes this?

This has been happening in our '21 ever since we brought it in for the recall patches. We've always kept it in Whisper, and it switches to Engage at random intervals.

It got broken with an update absolutely ages ago for a lot of owners (there will be some other threads over it) At this stage I doubt ford have even acknowledged the issue let alone put any effort into fixing it. I guess anyone working at ford with a mach-e must stay in engaged and never seen this issue if however you don't then better get used to it as you will be dealing with it constantly

My 2021 switches from Unbridled to Engage weekly, for years now. Frequency varies but average is twice a month.

Can you set up a new driver profile (using the numbers on the drivers side door) that uses your preferred mode?

My '21 changes, too and sometimes it changes the driver profile.

* One thing which I have noticed..... I only notice drive mode changes when I'm leaving home. Never after stopping somewhere. I will be more attentive to this to determine if it only happens after charging. This could be an unwanted result of my car communicating with Ford. I know that this can happen after a software update, too. Has anyone else seen something similar?

One of the thing I can say about almost any bug, is that the developers have to be able to reproduce it before they can fix it.

When something like this is so infrequent and no one can pin down what triggers it, it is likely unlikely it will get fixed.

If this was a once in a blue moon thing then sure but at this stage it really isn't. Also from a development perspective it is just the drive mode that is being reset to default, so unless Fords software is really that bad and there are thousands of different ways that it can be set it already gives Ford plenty of info towards tracking down and isolating all potential methods this variable can be changed and help towards identifying the possible route cause.

It is not the first time ford introduced bugs with the drive mode just switching, at least this time it isn't when on the move but it has become rather tedious constantly having to switch back to my preferred drive mode on a weekly basis.

My 23 Premium has done this a handful of times.

The last time it did this was after the 12v battery update.

I noticed it immediately because of how the steering wheel felt.
