I have heard several posters Report getting a Better charge price by using thenEA app instead of using the Blue Oval Charge Network in the FordPass app. I have tired charging using both at the same charger during the same charge period, but the price is always the same. Am I doing something wrong?

You have to pay for an EA membership to get the discounted price. It was $4/mo, but it’s going up to $7/mo.

Got it. So, if I went on a road trip for a month, could I pay the membership fee for that month, then cancel it when I get home?

Exactly.

Also, it will only give you the discount if you start the charging session from the app, not plug & charge.

From my experience a couple weeks ago, you have to ignore the instructions on the station and go directly to the EA app to initiate charging then plug in. If you plug in first, you will pay the higher rate by Ford. This happened to me despite deactivating the Plug and Charge feature on FordPass. It makes no sense, but that’s what happened. I had to stop and restart the session to get the member rate.
