Went to my local dealer by invitation a couple of days ago to see the new Ford Explorer which was a pre-production model but would be the same as the production version bar some minor interior modifications so I was told. I was pretty much underwhelmed to be honest as it's a VW ID4 with some exterior/interior cosmetic changes.
I found the seat uncomfortable for my back (others may not though)
The footwell was smaller and more cramped than the Mach E
Rear kneeroom was worse, although it is a shorter car.
The centre console was too intrusive and reminded me of the Polestar 2. I found the car quite claustrophobic.
No frunk (froot) other than a small compartment to fit in the tyre inflator and gunk bottle.
Too much interior piano black plastic, even the steering wheel buttons. These would be covered in micro scratches/smudges in no time.
Too boxy for me. At least the MachE has some design.
It will appeal to some people.
When I returned back to my car I felt really at home and contented. ( I know it's only a car but despite the small annoying software niggles I still love it)
