In Alaska, most cars have a plug on the front for an engine block heater, oil pan heater, battery charger, transmission heater. Things like that. Obviously the Mach-E doesn't have an engine or oil pan needing heat, but what about the 12V battery? Is it worth putting a smart trickle charger on it for winter use? Or does the HV battery keep it topped off? I've read here about people having issues with their LV battery draining--worried about that happening at -50.
Are there any heating elements that would be worth installing? Or does the preconditioning system handle all that sufficiently? If It does, I can simply charge the car rather than plug something else in.
