Ok, got it, I really have no plans to sell my Mach E when I get it, I’ve been waiting way too long. Basically just speaking in generalities.
Yup and and reading again, my “do” was supposed to be don’t. Freakin autocorrect.

I can’t even type “Ford” without autocorrect changing it here.

I'm surprise BMW isn't close to running out of the tax credit. They've seen selling EVs and PHEVs for many years.

I tried to get a quote from Carvana earlier this week but it wouldn't give an offer, says I gotta create an account and some other steps need to be taken.
Try Vroom and Peddle for fast offers on your MME. Vroom offers have been higher recently.

Best way to sell Premium AWD EXD Range 2021 with 2500 miles. Driveway and Vroom offers are too low. 52K. Willing to let go for 59K

I think you are dead on with that assessment, it's really impossible to enforce as long as someone isn't so obvious about it that they hang themselves.

The exact verbiage of the law, " The vehicle is acquired for use or lease by the taxpayer, and not for resale. "

While I fully intend to keep my Mach E when I buy it I really don't know as I have not had the chance to drive one more than a few miles. I am buying the car for my use and not resale but I can literally decide on my way home from the dealer that I don't like it. I could then sell it and be 100% legal in claiming the tax credit, end of story.
While that may make sense, it doesn't mean the IRS will agree with you SHOULD they look into it. Specifically, on the way home deciding to sell it. But, that's IF they decide to look into it.

Yes, probably right that would be pushing it a bit, was basically just stating the extreme.

So you’re willing to sell your used Premium for $1800 less than I paid for my fully loaded new GTPE? (I paid $60,826, every option X plan after tax credit).

Odd times we live in. People not happy selling used cars for a few grand profit without even having to list it for sale or haggle.

You could try classifieds, autotrader, Facebook MP, bring a trailer, or I'llgiveyouakidneyforthat.com

No profit. Paid more. Don't assume you know everything
Unless you paid a huge ADM and didn’t get the $7500 tax credit, $59k isn’t going to be a loss.

Still don’t understand how this helps others either way.

Yesterday, I sold my 2021 GT with 7k miles to the dealer I purchased it from, for $200 more than driveway.com offered. Net approaching $8k profit, accounting for tax credit, with of course the original sales tax included as well. I was sad to see it go, but oddly relieved as well. I ordered a BMW i4 M50, which likely won't be in until early 2023.
