Hello, I need help on making a flyer to put on someone windshield that takes up the only working EV charger at my local Kroger.

For over 3 months now when I go to my local Kroger to shop there is a Polestar 2 plug into the only working ChargePoint plug. It is always at 100% charged and because it a Polestar it is locked in place and cannot be removed without the key fob. I have written an email to Kroger but you know how that will go. I also let an employee know but they just said it maybe someone from the local KFC. (I don't think so) I like to have some flyers made to point out how uncool that is to take up that space without swear words but make it clear that they are nothing but the scum of the world.

Thank you

"Please move your car when it's done charging so that other vehicles can use the charger. I see you're always parked here at 100%. I've informed management and they are considering their options to tow your vehicle if this occurs again."

This is when you find out it’s the Kroger managers car.

Is it a free charger? Can you not charge anywhere else nearby? How much time do you spend at the grocery store? What level charger is it?

My guess is it’s a free level 2 charger, and you spend 20 minutes at the grocery store, but like most people you charge at home.

Yes it’s annoying, but if the above is true we are talking about 50 cents in free electricity. Is it worth even caring about?

Even if they “get the message,” there is only 1 available charger. What are the chances someone else won’t be parked there next time?

That said, if you really still care enough to confront them. Who cares about being polite then? Unleash all your strongly worded fury. ?

I agree with what other users are saying, it's not worth it to do anything about. I would mention it to the folks at Kroger but it's up to them if they do anything about it. I don't even use public l2 chargers with one exception and that's when I travel out of town.

My local Lunds has 3 level 2 chargers and they have a rule of 2-hour maximum and will tow. They also say the chargers are for when you are shopping at their store not anywhere else.

I’m forced to publicly charge, cause asshole HOA board. Recently: too many cars, charging bolts and leafs to 100% (read 7kW speeds), trash, fast food wrappers, beverage cans all over the place, sleeping in cars and not even plugging in, smoking weed while waiting (yes, it’s legal but totally obnoxious and illegal once you start driving).

I choose to ignore and move on. Not worth getting wound up about it.

It sounds like you might want to move to a house with a garage and a 48 amp EVSE.

I agree, take a deep breath and move on. To me, it's not worth the angst for the few minutes of 'lost' charging time. But, if it IS worth the angst to you, then consider hiring a BIG bully type to wait for the offender while you're in the store and have him/her let the offender know that if they do it again, expect a Post-it on their windshield next time. Then, bring some packs of Post-It's with you, prefilled out with a sternly worded advisement ;)

Totally misses the point. Plus, someone else with an EV will buy my condo and be in the same situation.

I have thee same problem with an Amazon Go, it’s attached to an apartment complex with surrounding restaurants bars and boutique shopping. It’s the same two Tesla every time. Im mentioned to Amazon in passing they are working property management and boot the car after two hours. Let’s see if that works.

Excellent. I'd also put the car make/model/color and license plate# on the note. Adds a little more "Oh crap, they've identified me" fear into it.

It's rude, and I personally have a problem with rude. Maybe I shouldn't care , but I try to be conscientious and move when I should. Staying at 100% and blocking the spot is wrong - no other way to look at it.

I'd leave a polite note and see what happens. If the person truly is a jackass they'll toss the note and be back the next day doing the same thing.

But at least you said something...
