Exterior temperature is just that: the temperature outside.

Ground speed is a long time Ford Mustang speedo tradition presumably related to the namesake Mustang fighter plane.

I'm curious about the optimal exterior temperature. We all know, or should, that the battery likes a certain operating temperature otherwise it uses energy to cool or heat itself.
Is that number documented somewhere? Or a range?

In other words, at what outside temperature is the battery content at work?

77 degrees is the ideal battery temperature. However, it works at any temperature, just produces more, or less energy at certain temperatures.

20C to 25C or 68F to 77F is the ideal range for the battery.

So daytime temperatures in upcountry Hawaii 9 months out of the year. Good to know I picked the right home for the car.

77 degrees is the ideal battery temperature. However, it works at any temperature, just produces more, or less energy at certain temperatures.

In my experience 77 is about right for the sweet spot. But I would add that in my experience the battery prefers 87 to 67.

You can observe the battery temp but you will need Car Scanner app and an OBD Bluetooth dongle, You can also see when the heater is warning up the batteries. I have an OBDLink MX+

I just ended up buying a blue tooth scanner for that.

Aux États-Unis, la température extérieure s'affiche en haut de l'écran central et une boussole en bas du tableau de bord. En Europe, la température extérieure est affichée sur les deux écrans. Ce réglage est modifiable avec ForScan. La température intérieure devrait correspondre à celle que vous avez définie dans vos commandes de climatisation, à condition que l'un des trois modes « Auto » soit sélectionné. Tant que le système de climatisation est activé, il s'efforcera d'atteindre la température souhaitée. Ce n'est que lorsque la climatisation est éteinte que la température intérieure différera de celle affichée.


Here in the US we have the outside temperature on the top of the center screen and a compass at the bottom of the driver's instrument screen. I understand that in Europe the outside temperature is displayed on both screens. This setting can be changed with ForScan. The interior temperature should be whatever you have set in your climate controls, as long as you have it in either of the three "Auto" settings. As long as the HVAC system is switched on it should still try to achieve the desired temperature setting. Only when the HVAC is switched off, you would experience a different interior temperature from what is set on the screen.
