I think we'd like additional confirmation. With the car parked, when you enter the charger destination and activate it, do you hear a coolant pump start running or not? Usually it starts as soon as you hit go. It will be a humming noise coming from behind the dash that ramps up during the first second of operation and you might hear air bubbles in the first few seconds. Turn off your radio and HVAC if you can't hear it. When you end navigation, the coolant pump should immediately stop.

Hopefully Google will add:

1. ability to plan the trip on phone and web browser without being connected to the car, understanding the exact vehicle specifics (battery, charge rates)
2. ability to filter out supercharger's that are not compatible with the NACS adapter.

Ah yes. On the mobile app, just click on "charging stations" and edit the filter to show "NACS (non-tesla)". That seems to only show v3 super chargers. Sweet.

I typically charge at work every other day. With having a 13 mile commute, would it be worth it to precondition every time?

Preconditioning is only really important for fast charging. The battery pack needs to be ~95F for optimal fast charging speeds. For level 2/slow charging it won't really matter unless the pack is below freezing, in which case it will use a little power towards the beginning of charging to get the pack a little warmer. The time required for that is pretty negligible relative to the charging time taken with level 2. Moreover, the car will only automatically precondition when it's en route and close to a fast charger.

During the cold months you can schedule departure times and it will use that time to warm the cabin and the battery before you leave.

What version of Android Auto do I need to get the updated EV trip planning? I can find chargers, but I am not getting the battery % I see in these posts. I have the 10.1.0 update that installed the Public Charging app on my Mach E.

We have 2 phones for one car. AA on each phone. I have downloaded AA on 2 older phones as well. I believe we have downloaded AA on 5 or 6 devices.

In AA maps Click search--> then category--> charging station --> then you see slider button click that.

For me the battery didn’t show anything for my Pixel 8a until I updated to Android 15.

I have added a screenshot showing the heater is running when the charger is set as destination.

The screenshot is from iOS because it’s my main device.

It would be nice if it showed pricing and estimated cost of trip. There are a couple of gougers at .75/kw around here and I don't like to be surprised. I know I can use Plugshare.
