We have a similar issue - with an AirTag. We bought a Fiat 500e from a friend and he mentioned that he had hidden an AirTag in the car but forgot where. He unlinked the AirTag but it's still there, and sometimes it chirps. All I can tell you for sure is that it sure is well hidden ?Interesting idea, but it wouldn’t help you in this case.
You already know the key fob is in the car somewhere.
An air tag or similar product would just tell you the same thing.
Good luck with the search!
On a funny note about the “beeping” to find it- a friend of mine has a “cricket beep” sound in his Jeep.
It’s the result of a prank of a friend of his. He made a little electronic thing that is supposed to beep every 10 minutes, and hides them in peoples cars as a prank. It was only supposed to beep for 2 weeks.
2 years later, it’s still beeping. He thinks he threw it into the a/c vent so there is no easy way to get to it.
