Check out /r/fisker on Reddit. Any thoughts of picking up a cheap Ocean post-BK will quickly vanish from your mind after that. Also I'm old enough to remember the failures of Fisker 1.0 (Karma) and Fisker Coachbuild (Tramonto and Latigo CS). Anyone who thought it was smart to give Henrik another try after his previous failures wasn't paying attention.

Do not buy a Fisker. You will not be able to have anything repaired or fixed - doesn't matter if software or hardware. Might as well just burn the money directly.

It's funny, I have 2 co-workers who waited years with reservations for their Fiskers and when they got it, they got the bad fiscal news of recent....

Now, they are both keeping them in the garage and hoping they will appreciate in value as time goes on.

I'd only get one to play with - never to rely on and certainly not to invest...
you can get fisker karmas from first fisker failure for cheap money. Can't imagine buying a tech heavy car from a company that's gone bankrupt twice.

My feeling from the start was that if you did two minutes of research on Henrik Fisker, you'd know any money spent on his products would have to come from the "I can throw it away and not miss it" fund.
just looking up the fact that this is second bankruptcy for fisker, amazed at all the people that fell for the hype second time around with that track record

I assume it's already gone. Down the same rathole as the previous hundreds of millions. Perhaps they'll get a few cents back on the dollar. Some day.

A bankruptcy court could decide otherwise, but normally investors stand in line with comparable owners. Behind all the creditors.

I saw one on the freeway on the way home from work yesterday. It had temporary registration on it. I pretty much was wondering why someone would plunk money down on a new one With the bankruptcy news. ?‍♂?

Pretty soon there will be a bunch on the market at a lower price point

Considering any unsold fisker is essentially dead stock, I’d say they are very lucky there is a buyer willing to pay an average of $14,000 per unit for the 3300 or so remaining salable vehicles. No doubt the court will allow briefings and hearings but I don’t see any realistic alternative but to grant this petition …unless there is an economical way to essentially recycle component parts and materials that nets more cash for creditors on some reasonable time line than this sale will net. One wonders how the prospective buyer who will lease these things to ride share drivers/operators in NYC intends to support these turkeys so the lessees can actually and dependably operate them and make money.

Same. We all know MME has OTA updates but what if Ford filed chapter 7. We’d be sunk.

I told my mum that these are basically computers on wheels ones the software is obsolete you’re sort of sunk. It’s. a handsome car but that’s my biggest concern
I don’t think the car would stop working if they stop sending updates.
What I would worry about are parts and service.

$72K car now sells for <$30K after 1 year will never be worth anything more.

I'm guessing they have to get in line with all the other creditors. Who wants to bet fisker comes back "again" into the car business with a new revolutionary design?

it'll probably be like those scooters you can buy online super cheap, without the hint of any service or support after purchase. Just never seen it done with a car before.
