Prices vary depending on condition: $16.5k for “good working order” vehicles, as low as $2.5k for damaged ones.

First, you have to be willing to risk losing all of the money you put into it. Second, you have to assume that if there is a problem, you are on you own. Everybody has a different set point for risk. You just have to decide where yours is.

Probably worth finding out how much car insurance will cost for this potential paperweight. As long as it runs OK, great, but minor damage can total it, if there aren't replacement parts.

I would not consider dropping $14K on a Fisker unless they 1) open -sourced the software and 2) had a robust supply of repair parts. And, good luck getting insurance on that thing.

My mum is thinking about adding an inexpensive second vehicle. We looked at a 2023 Fisker Ocean One. Nicely equipped rides nice etc. only 3300 miles and asking $22K.

My biggest concern is their bankruptcy if they file chapter 7 and or bought out my concern are updates and maintenance. I told
My mum not worth the risk for the vehicle becoming a brick.

Run away, will be a NIGHTMARE for parts. Was not made in enough numbers for their to be much aftermarket support. And judging by reviews online, there are a lot of problems with them already. A lot of software stuff, to be sure, but no one is going to be coding them now. If someone is an oddball car collector, that is one thing, buying one as a regular car is totally different.

You know at least when Saturn went to the wayside you still had GM that could service them, with an independent bankrupt company like Fisker, the Ocean is dead in the water.

1) Part of the agreement is that they would basically give over everything software wise to the new company. Everything. 2) There's the problem. There is multiple articles that claimed there are NO SPARE PARTS.

I wish I can learn how this company plans to make this work. Just once accident can render an Ocean totaled. I mean, I doubt their entire fleet will be destroyed overnight, but to think that anything more than a fender bender means the car is no more.

I wish I can learn how this company plans to make this work. Just once accident can render an Ocean totaled. I mean, I doubt their entire fleet will be destroyed overnight, but to think that anything more than a fender bender means the car is no more.

I am going to do some secret shopping at a local dealership take all these suggestions and see what they say. I’m concerned with software parts and warranty for sure

It's really a shame, too, as they weren't bad looking. In fact, they had almost everything to be a potential EV powerhouse: looks, range, power, etc ...I guess that's what happens when you're led by a numb nuts like Fisker and his wife Geeta.

It's possible that the Fisker Ocean may be rebadged and produced for another car company. If this happens, parts and service may be available from the new company.

The Ocean development costs have largely been paid for and there is signigicant value in Fisker intellectual property. I may take a chance based on this assumption.

If it doesn't happen, the Ocean can be "parted out" (disassembled) and may be worth more than my purchase price.
