Foot Slippage on Accelator Pedal?

I got my Mach E three weeks ago am enjoying it, however on at least four occasions, my foot has slipped from the accelerator pedal, creating the need for me to readjust my foot so it doesn't slip off. Has anyone else experienced this? The pedal feels like cheap plastic, so don't know if that can be replaced?

Never had that issue, and can't say I have ever seen it mentioned in the past 4 years.

AOSK makes a nice replacement set that are easy to install. I got them for aesthetics, but I would guess the grip os better too.

I do every so often, but only because I have nerve damage in my right foot and can’t feel anything. My wife says she’s never had a problem in two years of ownership.

No.

118,750 miles in all weather though with proper footwear even work boots and never once have I experienced this.

Could it possibly be user error? Driving in flip-flops/other inappropriate footwear? Any other non vehicle related reason?

I think it’s because the pedal is relatively small compared to cars in the past —I also drive with my seat quite a ways back with my foot resting near the bottom of the pedal. I often drive barefoot and haven’t had this happen yet. Could be bad habits from always driving manual cars in the past.

When I drive our other vehicles I immediately notice the difference in the go-pedals. So yeah....it's a thing for some of us. I never wear my sandals when driving the MME for that reason and all is well in the realm. The MME pedal is 1.2 cm shorter and has more curve than my Honda's, sits at a slightly different angle as well. Give it time and you'll be fine.

Never had that happen, in fact I've never had my foot slip off the accelerator in any vehicle.

Just curious, was the accelerator pedal changed in the last year or 2? Also, with a small pedal possibly foot size, shape has something to do with it.

The pedal isn’t all that small. My old MGB‘s go pedal was smaller and slipperier. It heel and toed very well though. The best stock pedal setup for heel and toe was my Gen1 Celica, though. Probably why my driving coach used to go nuts trying to make me left foot brake.

From the sound of it, your right foot is just not in the correct position on the pedal. the ball of the foot should be near the middle of the pedal. If the seating position is where you need it, the pedal should somehow need to be moved. But if possible, you may want to try shortening the steering column’s telescope and positioning the seat more forward. A longer pedal might also help. Not sure if the aftermarket pedals are longer, but maybe a different Ford’s pedal is and will fit on the end of the lever. A visit to some salvage yards with the pedal measurements might be in order.

Your feet often have to adjust to different pedals, some of them are notably different than others.
