How much does that cost?Bring it to the dealer and they will apply any updates showing as queued in their system. If I understand correctly, not all OTAs show in their system, so it is not a way to get all updates (like BC 1.x, for example).
They will not do this unless you pay out of pocket. They only apply updates for which you have a valid service action.Bring it to the dealer and they will apply any updates showing as queued in their system. I don't know, as the only time I brought my car to the dealer, it was getting OTA failed errors, so it was covered under warranty. My issues were due to 12 V battery issues, but I didn't know that at the time. How much does that cost?
Whatever the hourly rate is times the hours it took or the minimum charge, whichever is higher unless there is a TSB, CSP, etc, covering a specific issue. How much does that cost?
An OTA can also brick your car. With FDRS, you can "unbrick" it yourself in minutes with a simple guided routine that requires a few clicks of the mouse pointer. If a module bricks while updating it with FDRS, there's a simple guided routine to recover the module, too.The only way to force updates (by yourself) is with FDRS/Forscan, and even still, it isn't necessarily recommended for non techy folks, because you can brick your car...

It's designed to be as dummy-proof as possible. Auto technicians are trained to turn wrenches.....they're not software experts. They have the support of Ford engineers when they can't figure something out, and we have the support of the forums.
Believe me when I tell you: This is not a bad place for advice when it comes to this stuff. Not bad at all.
