Anyone have any experience with the buyback program? Do they reimburse for the full amount paid on the car plus taxes? I’m thinking of starting the process. Car has been in the shop for over a month for the front camera fault.

Manufacturer should reimburse all what you paid, taxes and fees. Minus mileage you drove before first service appointment with this issue. You will not receive any reimbursements for aftermarket installations like alarm, sounds and etc. Does it make sense? With price increases you’ll pay much more for new Mach-e.

Thanks, it does. That’s the downfall. I have a Rte 1 and there has been an $8000 increase. I’m thinking of going with a model 3

Have you talk to your dealer? They might just pay you more than your cost and take the car back and you might be able to apply that for a new car to save on sale tax if it is allowable. Win win situation. Hopefully the camera problem would be fixed and the car would be ready for the new owner.

To request a buyback, the lemon law of Alabama requires 3 repair attempts or 30 calendar days out of service. However, my Ford's customer service representative spontaneously suggested initiating the process after 18 calendar days out of service. She also indicated that the buyback team would make decisions within 5 business days. I could then choose to accept their offers or not.

I decided not to initiate the buyback process, because whatever price they offered would certainly be lower than my MME's market value.

Ford then spontaneously offered to pay my car loan payments, but I had paid it off, so Ford wrote me a $500 check for all the inconvenience during MME repair.

Later I went to the local Lincoln dealership to check Corsair. I was suggested to initiate the buyback process, simply to check what options Ford was willing to offer. I requested it on September 27. I was notified on October 5 that my buyback had been approved. Someone would contact me with more details on offers/options.

Thus far, Ford seems to be quite willing to help MME drivers, to buy back problematic MME, and to wrestle with lousy dealerships. (You can explain these takeaways to be Ford's effort and/or gimmicks, though.)

My MME has been out-of-service since August 16, so I have met one of the legal requirements in Alabama's lemon law (the other requirement is one year or <12,000 miles)

I'd suggest you to check your state law and see where you stand. Then contact Ford's customer service for help. You might be suggested to launch the buyback process as well. If approved, cash settlements, repurchase, replacements, or discounts for another Ford/Lincoln are all possible.

Unfortunately I need to throw my name in the hat. Bought a 2021 MME select with tech/comf pkg on May/24. I took it to the dealer 2 weeks later for recalls and updates per the letter received. Then 2 weeks later back to the dealer for parking camera calibration alarm and only 31kw at any fast charger, ie: EA, EVGO & Chargepoint. Dealer had for a 10 days and said it's good to go but the problem persisted. Several here made suggestions but nothing I tried made a difference pointing to the vehicle as the issue. So returned to the dealer with pictures of what rate I was getting at the charging stations. They agrred somthings wrong. That was May the 1st. After the tech replaced the charge port, OBCC and battery pack he threw his hand up and enlisted the engineer team. They still can't figure it out as of Sept 4th.
Am I a prime candidate for buy back?
