Received free charger when I pirchased my MME but already have a Tesla UWC which has been flawless since day 1 at home. Considering installing the ford charger outside at our cabin which has harsh cold, wind, snow conditions. Haven’t opened the box yet but this thing seems massive. Is the ford charger as reliable as others such as Tesla, Emporia, Chargepoint?

Charger model: NL38-10C823-AC 1X

Guess no one is using the Ford Chargers. Disappointing. Maybe I’ll sell it and get an Emporia.

I got one with my Lightning and have used it going on 2 years without issue. Indoor installation. You’ll learn more on the Lightning forum since the FCSP has only been supplied with the Mach-E for a few months. Probably not a lot of installations by Mach-E owners yet, unless they also own a Lightning. It was a bit finicky to get it connected to WiFi, but once that was done, it’s been fine.

But if you can sell it for enough to cover the cost of the Emporia, you can’t go wrong doing that.

@Maquis thanks for the reply. Assume the MME can’t take the full 80a anyway. Might just sell and get something smaller. This will be an outdoor install

Mach-E can only take 48amps.

Any of the OEM-branded chargers (Ford, GM) you're going to have challenges for support. "See the dealer"... Dealer says "we don't know anything". I sold mine for $1,000 back in mid 2023, but the market is a lot softer now. Owners of Hummers or Chevy Pickups might buy it.

I had the Ford Charge Station Pro installed about a month ago and have had no problems. The Qmerit Electrician that installed it said they would only allow the charge amperage to be 48 amps. I know the FCSP can handle up to 80 amps, but for my Mustang Mach-e Premium with the 91KW ext. range battery it works well. The electrician said that they have informed the Qmerit installer to only allow 48 amps.
