Hi everyone. This past Friday, I had an electrician install 100A service to my detached garage. He mounted the Ford Connected Charger and connected via 60A breaker. installation is solid, though I had to open it up and set the dip switches to 48A/60A. The electrician didn't set the switches, so I assume it was the default setting.

Anyway, my issue is that I can't get the charger to connect to the Ford app. The setup works find up until it says "Connecting your charger to your app. This should only take a few seconds". It just sits here forever unit your phone goes to sleep. I can see that the charger is connected and sending/receiving on my WiFi network. It just won't connect to the app. Anyone have this issue?

Search the forum. I do not have this device but I believe there were others that either had this or similar issues. I would uninstall the Ford app and re-install if you already had the app on your phone. Other than that I am not much help.

I had issues getting my charger connected to the software, and after 2 resets of the charger I realised that the process had a bug. The charger app stays connected to the "wallbox" network instead of switching over to the home wifi network IIRC

I couldn't use the Ford app to get the charger on my wifi. Assuming you got the newer charger. There was a QR code on it, I had to scan that then go through some website. Download a different Ford app. Then it worked.

Edit: correction it was not a QR code on it, but there was a second way to connect newer chargers.

This is the app I used to connect it

Do you have a solid 2.4gHz WIFI connection at your attached garage? That can cause connectivity issues.

Actually, I did search the forum. That's what led to this post. My issue is entirely "it won't connect to the app".

I tried connecting where both devices are on 2.4ghz WIFI and 5ghz. On all occasions, the charger establishes a connection on WIFI just fine.

I tried initiating the connection through the charger set up. I tried initiating the connection through the Ford app as well.

I did this same exercise above - resetting the charger between attempts.

I read that a user who was able to get it on WIFI, but not in the app, waited a couple days to let the charger sync to Fords network and then connected manually using the Ford app. Didn't work for me.

I read where the Ford app had gotten a redesign, or something along those lines, since the Ford Connected Charger came out. Maybe that's the problem..? The only reason I haven't tried to delete and reinstall the Ford app is because it is setup as a key...you know, don't cause another problem while you're in the middle of a current problem lol.

I'm afraid my next avenue might have to be to call support. Tech support is so bad these days, you know?

Also Make sure Cell is OFF! Only use WIFI connection, if it tries to go through Cell it wont work. I had this issue. Depending on carrier will make a diff.

I’ve had mine for over 5 years (car and FCCS). Sometimes it connects in the Ford app, sometimes it doesn’t. Today, it connected. FCCS is on my 2.4G network and my phone on 5G - it still worked. I can’t remember the last time I tried to connect to it - I don’t find the connected features all that useful.

I have the Pro 48A charger, and it won’t connect to the Ford app. It only works with the telematics app, and there’s a $20/mo fee! Not worth it to me.

What’s a “Pro 48A charger”?

Ford has the “Ford Connected Charge Station” (48A max), and the “Ford Charge Station Pro” (80A max).
