A few days ago (first week of Jan 2025), I received the NACS adapter that Ford sent me.
The seal on the box was not sealed, and some of the 'fancy' packaging that I noticed people were received mid to late 2024, wasn't the same.

After a bit of research, I found a video online, where they were saying Ford had a recall (called it something else), for the NACS adapter.
Thus, wondering if there really was a recall, and maybe that is why mine wasn't sealed and such.

Thoughts...

PS: From my understanding, in general, one should be able to merely pull up to a Tesla charger, connect the NACS, plug in, and charge. It should read the financial info and such from the MachE, no?

The recalled adapters were built by Tesla and shipped in June. Those shipped later, whether the Lectron or Tesla versions, are not subject to the recall.

You got the Lectron version which has different packaging. You can use Plug and Charge at all compatible locations. Those are found via FordPass or the Tesla app after you enter your vehicle and that you have an adapter.

I got my adapter last June then it was recalled. I got the new adapter yesterday. It's about 1.5x bigger and heavier. Definitely looking like it can handle the 500 amps it says it can. I should have taken a pic of them side by side to share but already shipped the other one back.

You have to make sure to go in fordpass and activate plug and charge in the "connected services" section. It'll prompt you to add a credit card.

You'll see connected services towards bottom of the front welcome screen in fordpass, click on it and scroll ti you reach plug and charge, follow the instructions. This enables you to plug in without having to do anything else, keep in mind that only gen 3(not all) and 4 tesla superchargers will work.

Thank you for the information. I do not have plug and charge as an option. Something tells me that I did this, ages ago. I will try to test the Tesla connector sometime this week.

Oddly, I almost feel embarrassed having to possibly take up two slots at a Tesla charging stall, and then looking like I don't know what I am doing, when trying to charge. Alas, that is clearly a personal issue...

Sorry, just to clarfiy under "connected services" you should see "blue oval network" on the list of connected services. If it's been set up it will say "active" if not it should say "activate" in any event in the blue oval network box, click on "manage" it will prompt you to add a credit card for payment.

You may not be taking up two stalls if the Tesla station has been updated with the longer cord.

Like the Tesla supercharger station at Covington, GA for example. In fact, that one not only has the longer cords it's got the 'magic dock' which is basically a NACs adapter built in to the charge handle for those non-Tesla owners who need that...you don't even have to use the one Ford gave you at that site.
