One of my local dealers has a Mach-E that I'm interested in getting. I understand the concept of Ford Options but what I can't find is: are there any minimums that Ford has to get use Options? Is there a minimum payment that Ford wants (most leasing deals have) that you need to pay monthly? I can only afford so much and would like to know what the deals is before trying to get the car. Thanks for any insights you can give.

There is no minimum payment. There are rules about the maximum amount you can put as a down payment, but no down payment is required.

If you're close to purchase or don't care about the credit inquiry you can do the online credit application which will allow you to set terms.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but if the goal is to lower your payments, then you can pick the lowest miles per year. This will result in a higher residual value, which will increase the size of the balloon. You can see the different payments with 36 vs. 48 months. Only issue in doing this would be that if you turn in the car instead of buying or trading it, and you're way over on miles, it would cost you. Of course you can also then refinance the balloon payment for more years.

No minimum down payment (payment at time of purchase.
monthly payment is based on several factors: interest rate, loan length (36-48months), down payment, and with options yearly mileage.
The 48 month options with lowest mileage will give you the smallest monthly payments (all else being equal). The mileage is only important if you give up the car at the end of the loan.
A regular car loan will have a much higher monthly payment since there’s no balloon payment.

I have a question about the disposal fee, it says: $475 - waived with renewal. Let's say I want to buy the car before the term is up, do I have to pay the disposal fee? Any other fees I need to be aware of if buying it on Ford Options?

No fees to pay it off. The fee only applies if surrendering the vehicle.

No. The disposal fee is only charged if you return the vehicle to Ford Credit. If you buy it out, trade it or sell it on your own there is no disposal fee/mileage-wear fees.

Hi everyone, I have been on the forum for 6 months and it has been a great source of information and I thank all those who have contributed to it.
I ordered by Mach-e premium in Aug 2021 and it was finally delivered to the dealer yesterday. It has been a long wait and I am very excited to own it.
Before I booked I sat with the dealer and confirmed they do Ford Options, however now he is saying their system doesn't support Ford Options and they cannot generate a contract to complete it.
He has been pushing me to Finance it to purchase and they will support x-plan (saves 800$).
Is it really a Finance tool limitation? Feels like I am at the mercy of my dealer after waiting 6months.
This is the kind of Customer experience that leads to the general negative opinion of dealerships.

Any advice is much appreciated.

That's not 100% correct. The contracting part does not require any software updates from the dealer. That is already been set up for the dealers to use long ago.

Their internal dealership systems may not be set up to do Ford Options, that could require updates from their service provider. They may need their internal systems set up in order to calculate the contract figures correctly. But the physical process of contracting does not require any updates, they just have to enter in the proper figures.

Is there an advantage/benefit to the dealer in doing general Financing vs Ford Options? Is there reason for the reluctance to update or offer the product to customers?

No difference really to the dealer for financing with APR or Ford Options.

The reluctance is that the dealer may have to call their service provider and install an update. They don't want to spend the time doing system updates or learning something new.
