I've been waiting for Ford to finally fix HVAC buttons, they are so useless. The only option I need, recirculation, is buried in the menu, and before I can get to it, it is too late.
Good luck if you want to turn off the fan. You need to click a button, scroll up (it is already at zero) and then scroll down to zero back again.
Why do I need windshield defroster quick access button when there is a physical button next to a light switch?

Ford, could you please put recirculation and hvac off quick access buttons?

The "auto" needs to be 3-2-1-off, and the fan button needs to be in the "hvac controls" menu as well; why should we have to go into 2 menus to turn the fan on non-auto with a change to recirc/vent/etc?

And PLEASE allow the know to be used for the "active" slider (with the default of volume if none active) and not just volume

I don't know that you need a separate recirc button

I need recirculation button each time there is an ice car burning oil in front of me. I can't even turn off HVAC either, it is so complicated.

When I first got my car,, I thought I needed quick access to Max A/C and Recirc also. Turns out the three Auto settings are all I need. Summer stays in Auto 3. Winter in Auto 1 and Spring/Fall Auto 2. I barely need to use any of those other controls. It was weird at first because all my previous vehicles required my constant attention to operate the HVAC so I was comfortable. This is the first car where "Auto" truly meant automatic with very little input required from me.

Heck, even the heated seats and steering wheel are automatic.

Great system IMO.

YES!!!! just add "off" to the cycle.

Can the heated seats ditch the slider and get the same tap between 3-2-1-Auto-off?

BTW, I always get a laugh out of the commenters who come on when someone shares an observation to improve the car and dismiss it with "never a problem...ever". Think here with "auto" just works or the people who somehow have the PaaK that works 99 out of 100 times.

I agree. I live in SLC and the air turns to garbage in the winter. I need easy access to recirculate and I need it to stay on unless I turn it off.

Think they should have:
1) Auto button also circles though 1-3 then to switch off (3-2-1-off) Having to navigate to another screen to switch off the heating is silly.
2) Should have heated windscreen button on the bottom row (in screen heating). I use that often and have to go through multiple buttons to do that.
3) The recirculate button to be in the bottom row.
4) THIS IS A MAJOR ONE. Why when you switch off the demister button the heating stays on if it was off before. It's really annoying and it should mirror the original state before you pressed the button.
5) Heated seats to have also 3-2-1-off taps to operate. Long-press can show the slider.
6) Any chance of an eco mode on the heating. Like having the fan on 1 and heating on 22c which switches on and off when needed. I have to do this manually to fake my own eco mode heating. I'm sure others do this also as I have seen it on youtube videos.

I set the temperature. Auto 1. Done. Haven’t adjusted the settings in months.

Rear defroster, very handy this time of year.
Exactly, I set it and forget it.

Can say the same in cooler temps. It works well on auto and is something I do not think about. First one with a thermostat so I do not need to constantly adjust. Never felt uncomfortable to date so I do not play with it too much. I have hit the defrosts a couple of times at start up now but no real need for it to date. I drop the seat to 1 and turn off the steering wheel after a bit and that is it.

Can't speak for everyone, but rear defroster is a very useful button. I often need to remove mist from the read hatch at this time.

I have a Select with the Tech package and haven't seen a way to do auto heated steering wheel. Is this not available on my setup?

I agree that turning on the HVAC system on and off requires one tap too many, but after over 1200 miles of driving last weekend, tapping the climate button and then tapping the power button didn't seem too bad to me. I had to do this repeatedly because the windows would fog without HVAC.

As for the recirc stuff, I sidestepped the problem by just getting the Pureflow filter so I didn't have to worry about turning on recirc all the time. I also agree it's a dumb problem, but I'd rather spend the $20-$30 and get on with my life, because I know it's a lost cause to hope that any legacy automaker will actually fix any of these issues :)
