Thinking fords servers can have slow downs with no iPhone 13 required.Ok everyone, remember, yesterday was when Apple iPhone 13 orders started. All the inter tubes were being clogged up by the orders. It’s no wonder Ford was having problems. Apple fanpeople worldwide were pressing “BUY NOW” on their Apple iPhone 13 order! Even Goldman Sachs couldn’t keep up with the Apple Card transactions and died ?????
Ford’s galactic supercomputer in Dearborn handling FordPass and Mustang Mach E updates (I.e., the Commodore Vic 20) never stood a chance ???
What I would hope happens is the phone communicates with the car. The car stores activity and sends it to the server on Ford time. That way a million EV's are not trying to see their charging status thru a ford server at the same time. Phone app to car and have the car send the telemetry on fords schedule. No tin foil but I have had enough of you are see 10 hours ago or fordpass is not responding.
Just thinking a million above but what about 10 years of them? Whole current phone home logic baffles me and wonder if it is not too high maintenance and/or prone to slow downs with constant phone homes. Ford built this EV from the ground up but that does not mean the old phone home fordpass was. Fordpass constant interaction with ford servers will always cause problems and will never work. If it is bogged down now I can guess what will happen as more and more hit the road.
