FordPass status update when away from car?

My car has been at the dealership since Wednesday and I’m curious if they’ve driven it, moved it, updated it etc.

However, when I check the status, the last time location, charge, mileage etc was updated was July 13 (when I dropped it off).

Is status supposed to update on the app when you aren’t near the car? And if so, how often or how do I force it to update?

When I click on the map, it’s also in the same spot I left it.

I have the latest version of the app.

Using an iPhone. Other than swiping up to close it (which I always do) is there a way to force close?

I guess a better question is: is this normal? Is it supposed to update status even when you are away from the car?

When you set a schedule for the securiert you'll have two toggles. Once the car goes to sleep the app won't have any updates. With securialert turned on, you'll get notifications and a map location of the alert if any doors, lift gate or frunk is open.

I wonder if you have the busted version of the GWM installed. It broke FP communication for me until I updated to the non broken version. The busted one is included with 2.8.2.

Also, securialert doesn't work for a good percentage of cars so it might be pointless to try that.

Maybe? I did get 2.8.2 and 2.8.2 OTA recently.

Probably not yet since the dealership is supposedly doing every available update while they have it in the shop. Thanks for the offer though!

No, got 2.8.2 June 28 and charge logs go through July 12.

How is it not working for people? I’m a new owner and while I do get the alerts I was under the impression I would only get them during the schedules I set. Right now I seem to always get alerts when I open the doors.

Ok well the only other way I know for sure to guarantee a refresh from the car would be if you're familiar with Postman.

EDIT: DO NOT do this. I found out that Ford aggressively monitors their APIs for postman calls. While you might be able to add a step to change the user agent, use at your own risk.

1. Go to ford.com
2. Press F12 on your browser (I'm using Firefox as an example)
3. Click on Network in the Developer Tools
4. Login to your Ford account
5. Click on XHR in dev tools
6. Find users in the left side of dev tools and click on it
7. On the right side of dev tools look for request headers section
8. We'll extract data from here later

Next in Postman:

1. Make a put request to the following url: https://usapi.cv.ford.com/api/vehicles/v2/***yourvinhere***/status
2. Click on authorization and pick Api Key
3. On the right put "Auth-Token" without the quotes
4. In the Value put the Auth-Token from the browser dev tools
5. Select the add to header dropdown
6. Now click on Headers
7. In the bottom box add a new header called "Application-Id" without the quotes
8. Add the value from the browser dev tools
9. Click on Send

If it's successful you'll get a status 200 returned and the car will refresh in 5 minutes.

Securialert is just broken all around. Schedules don't work. For a lot of cars, like mine, I can't even access the schedules. Off or on, I never get alerts.
