Hey everyone,
For those of us that ordered in 2021 and were bumped to a 2022 model, we have all seen the price increase the 2022 model year. There have been lots of discussions here and in the similarly named Facebook group regarding the legality and ethics of this increase and our rights. While I am an attorney, I am in the entertainment issue and can offer very little guidance in consumer protection law. That said, I reached out to my dealer about this increase and he told me "
has something called price protection program that protects you from price increase since you ordered your car. The original price increase from 2021 to 2022 is :
51,740 / 52,115, that why Ford is giving you $750 to cover that. The new increase does not apply to you."
So this is somewhat good news that at least this program exists. However, the 2022 MSRP he gave me for my CR1 RWD EXT is lower than I am seeing on my window sticker. I also see to recall, though I never printed a screenshot (my bad), that the 2021 MSRP for the CR1 RWD EXT was less than $51,740. Anyone happen to have a screenshot of the MSRP for a similar CR1 RWD EXT from late last year?
