Found damage after first wash, 2 weeks owner

Found damage after cleaning and looking at the car close. The windshield was clearly damaged during assembly, it does not look like a rock impact and nothing else around it is damaged. Also , the middle seat belt was clipped and was VERY hard to unclip. Once I unbuckled it the other side showed a tear in the belt. Have you or were you able to get it fixed by the dealer or warranty?

2023 premium awd 91kwh, located in Quebec Canada.

PS ill be calling the dealer on Tuesday, just checking to see if others have experience getting it solved.

90% chance they say you did it. All of it. Did you not think of inspecting your new car closer before/after purchase? Most I know spend an hour or more upon pickup inspecting closely before signing papers.

You will have no issue on the belt, and should have no issue on the windshield with no point of impact.

This will be 100% dealer dependant. If they aren’t complete jerks they will cover both under warranty. Kinda depends how much they value return customers.

I inspected it, it is stuff even the best would miss, either from water in the crack hiding it or glare from the sun. Ill see what I can do.

When I bought mine I found that the rear seatbelts were trapped under the back seat including the buckles. I sorted it myself but either at PDI they didn't care/notice. Admittedly I didn't notice on pickup but never thought to check on the rear seatbelts even though I'd got a checklist. (Excitement of the moment etc).

That's a real bummer.? Best of luck with the dealer. Seeing how new your Mach-E is, I would hope you'd have little to no pushback from your dealer.

Something similar happened with me. I ended up getting a couple of nasty door dings after only a week of ownership and 200 miles on the OD! I brought my car in for PDR and my shop discovered 3 additional dents on various panels that I had not noticed when I purchased the car. Cost me double what I was expecting to have to have to pay.?‍?

Well done with the photos.
One of the local dealers near me would fix it with no questions asked. They are the dealer I buy cars from.
Another local dealer would hassle me about something like that. Not the dealer I buy from.

Always sucks to find delivery damage. Hopefully it will be as good as new soon.

Mine had a bit of damage too...

(I refused delivery and ordered another one - CAD $20k in damage)

Mine came with 4 windows scratched (I'd assume the guy removing the protective stickers did that with a tool), the left mirror housing scratched and a small scratch at the rear bumper. That was all replaced without any discussion from the dealer.

Update, windsheild will be replaced at dealer cost with OEM installed by a third party, they will also replace the seat belt but under warranty.

FYI transport damage has to be reported to Ford within 48 hours of vehicle delivery to the dealer, otherwise there's zero recourse. Dealer is eating the cost of the windshield in this case, so you're lucky.

Seat belt could be a called a manufacturing defect so is covered.

I had issues with the piano black trim on the roof. They replaced with no questions asked. But caused a rattle and damaged a couple other interior pieces. I decided to live with it.
