I think if I had known what a PITA the insert grille actually would be - I probably would have just went through insurance. The part is so expensive to start with (even an OEM takeoff on eBay is still $500+ last I looked, and $2500 MSRP and ~$1500 retail) and then it would be probably a couple hours labor at a shop... all of that is way over my $500 deductible. So …haven’t had time to replace my cracked insert but thanks for making me look forward to it even more. ?

Then again, I wanted to do it more for the experience than anything. With the rest of the info in this thread, you should probably be fine - or at least better prepared.
But I still feel like there's no real reason why you shouldn't be able to remove the frunk tub, undo a couple nuts on the back side of the bumper, and remove that insert in a few minutes. Just absurd it was done the way it was - especially for a part that's VERY susceptible to breaking (the part itself seems REALLY brittle to me as well). Once TWRAPS gets a PPF kit for it, I'd highly recommend any GT (and now the new sport appearance cars) apply it ASAP to save the hassle.
