I was already today that they’re not replacing due to shortages
I finally got a call from Ford Customer care after trying for over a week. They submitted a buy back claim and someone is supposed to get back to me this week. I'll update when i get an offer

Please post if they are able to correct the problem with the FC failure. My dealer is stumped and unable to repair this problem. They did some hardware replacement and it worked for a few miles and then failed again, intermittently and now all the time.

They also have a Ford engineer that's supposed to come out and try and fix my car. I take it back on this Monday 11/7, who knows how long they will have it this time, however, I will come back to this post and update you all on what happened. I currently have an open case with Ford on this issue.

I’m a ford senior master tech and I also have a 2021 Mach-e premium awd and been having the same problem for awhile now. I think I got it figured out, my car would throw the camera fault and pre collision alerts. I noticed it happened whenever I would hit a big bump in the road. I’ve relaxed the IPMA and the camera, performed numerous updates and the fault would still happen. I found it by driving down the road and started hitting the headliner and the left a pillar and found when I would hit the headliner close to the camera it would fault. So sitting still with the car on and ready, I removed the black camera cover and the headliner console. I started to mess with the cable and could get it to fault every time just by touching the cable. I removed all the trim all the way to the back of the car and wiggled the harness all the way to the IPMA and the fault wouldn’t come on. I replaced the front section of the camera cable and I’ve driven about 50 miles hit every bump I could and riding the rubble strips on both sides and the faults haven’t happened again. The diag for the codes it sets isn’t very descriptive and doesn’t have you test any wiring. As of right now I would say the faults have been repaired. If you need any more info just let me know.

If this is "it" this observation may also support the observations made by several of us here in Arizona that this fault frequency seemed related to ambient temperature, with hotter making it more frequent (connector thermal expansion?) Sounds like a recall to me.

Have you reported this to the holiness?
If you can get it to fault everytime then that is the smoking gun.

Yes, the faults do seem to correlate with large bumps but I also sometimes get the faults when I first get in the car and select reverse.

How about the pre-collision assist fault? Is the front camera used for that system?

Do you have a How-To with photos to show the front cable replacement? My warranty is long expired so I will have to make this repair myself...

I just fixed it yesterday, I discovered the problem a couple weeks ago and the part took awhile to come in. I was searching around and seeing if other people had the problem and I found this thread. I’m not saying this is your problem, the way I diag anything that has to be driven for fault to occur is verify and then see if I can get it to do it sitting still. Start the car and just start tapping on the headliner in the front by the camera and go left to the a pillar and see if the fault occurs. If it doesn’t remove the a pillar trim and there is a connector half way down the cable is the round black cable in the connector, gently flex the cable on both sides and see if the fault occurs.

Sorry if I read past this, but what exactly did you do to fix it? Was it a faulty cable or just unsecured connectors?

Mine started happening less and less as temperatures dropped… but having silly warm weather right now and the errors are coming back.

has anyone had success with the hotline correlating these issues? Every time I ask BEV said they don’t have any ability to look for global issues or mass reported and such.

Their was a problem with the first section of cable from the camera on mine. Every time I touched a spot about 4-5 inches away from the camera it would throw the lights and codes.

Before everyone requests their dealer to tear apart the car looking for a wiring issue, it is important to note that there are a few different issues at play here causing this same set of faults. There are software issues and hardware issues and some of you are just lucky enough to have all the issues.

Hopefully more can be shared soon

Ford hasn’t had a new IPMA update for at least 6 months. If you have been in for service recently it should be up to date. So you have the same program as me. Mine would have more problems when it was hot outside but it started to get worse and did it all the time. The cable is a coaxial cable and it’s very thin wire inside and fragile, it could have gotten damaged from production or if you had the recall done and the headliner was removed.

Just lightly tap on the front of the headliner with the car on and ready and see if the fault occurs. The arrow is about where mine had a problem. The cable is wrapped in harness with other wires and then glued to the headliner.
