I tried it before and it didn’t work on my car. Tried again today and nothing as well. So I guess yours works, which means I have two issues now.
Bummer.
Yeah, when the camera fault occurs, I can still use Normal Cruise Control. Adaptive won't work of course but Normal will.

Yeah, same here. I’ve had this issue for the past 2 months. Was at the dealership for 1 month. Then, they said they fixed it came back the next day after I drove off with it. Now it’s permanent. I also believe it’s a software issue. I started to get this issue after an update (I don’t recall which one, sometime in June or May.) a little before my first visit to the dealership. I have had my car (21 Select w C/T package) since May 2021. Yeah it had a few bugs but nothing like this. The little stuff I can endure but not being able to use bluecruise or normal cruise control is really starting to bother me.

Dealership has been great to me but I think this one is a little out of their hands.

Right now I have a case with ford but I haven’t heard anything in two weeks.
I was excited about adding a F150 lightning to my garage but I’m truly thinking about it now. This experience and buying my Mach e have been really putting a dent on my expectations so far.

Every Friday I hop on these forums to see if anyone has figured it out but nothing yet. Or at least I haven’t come across a solution.

Wish the OP and me best of luck because ford has a real issue here.
Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

Pretty much exactly the same for me. Purchased 4/24/21, build Feb 21.

All this stuff cropped up in early June, I think. It was around the same time that my OTA BlueCruise was applied, so I believe it was that update that started it all. Today represents the end of the 4th week the dealership has had the car. I had presumed when I took it in that they'd probably have the car for 2-3 days for a few (seemingly minor) issues, but now being patient is getting a little old. This is also pretty much the car's first visit to the dealership.

They are telling me they have 15 Mach-E's in the shop and only 3 techs who can work on them, and that they have Ford engineers stopping by randomly to help them figure it all out. They seem to go for days at a time without touching the car at all. At the end of two weeks, the advisor admitted that all they had done was occasionally log in and read up about the problems, but had applied no updates and done no actual work on anything. I was told yesterday that today they will be replacing the Image Processing Module (IPMA I think?), and hopefully it will fix something.

Keep us updated please. There are two Image Processing Modules -- IPMA and IPMB. The IPMA is the actual camera itself in the windshield. The IPMB is located in the trunk area, if I understand correctly.

In my case, they replaced the IPMB which at first seemed to work

Just got ours back.

Summary:
  • The IPMA had stored codes (I also had provided pictures of the fault messages just in case, but good to know the codes were stored)
  • The IPMB (Image Processing Module B) located in the rear trunk area of the vehicle tested bad and was replaced
  • They realigned the front camera, and road-tested
Interestingly, they indicated there were NO TSBs for this condition. I spent about 30 minutes after pickup driving on a nearby interstate with BlueCruise, and it worked flawlessly. I will definitely keep this thread up to date if that changes. Invoice below for the curious

But, only a few days later we are back in perma-Front Camera Fault

Well that's it. After the "fix" at the dealer replacing the IPMB, and Front Camera Fault returning periodically, we are now stuck with the perma-fault again. It's actually worse now than before we had it "fixed".

If/when I ever get the car back, I should be able to quickly tell if the group of issues comes back. I normally put 500-600 miles on the car each week, 95% freeway with adaptive cruise engaged. I am anxious to get it back and working properly because making that trip in the truck each week is expensive. I will update on progress.

This is probably a stupid question but has anyone tried clearing the error codes (U3000?) with car scanner or something like that? Wondering if it will make it functional until it stops working again. Or if there is something else that can be done to reset it so it works even for a little while before it errors out again. It’s frustrating when you are traveling on the freeway. I agree this started happening when Blue Cruse updates were sent out.

That would be great. A workaround to least get it somewhat working would be nice. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the equipment to actually do anything with the electronics on my car. I remember seeing someone on YouTube who applies their own updates to their MME GT. I was thinking of buying some of the stuff after my warranty period but didn’t think I would need it so soon. It sucks because the car has been amazing it’s just these camera faults kill it.

It doesn't auto resolve? I have this happen more frequently now, but within a minute or two the car forgets about it and goes back to normal operation....

Wish me luck, just dropped the Mach E off this morning for second attempt at fixing the issue

Dealership just called, they are going to replace the IPMA (the actual front camera) and go through some reset procedures. 2 - 3 days to get it shipped and fixed up. I'll update this thread after the job is done with as many details as I can obtain. Perhaps it's that magical reset procedure someone else referenced in another thread.

Hi there. This front camera concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
