Frunk Bolts - 2024 MME

In my 2024 MME, in the frunk there are 2 bolts on the bottom that bolt the frunk pan to the chassis. I was removing the frunk to install a lit PONY in my grill. One of the bolts got stripped. Does anyone know what bolt size I need to replace It? The other one is bolted in fine so the frunk being loose is not an issue. Thanks in advance.

That lower frunk bolt thread is 6mm x 1.0. It’s 1” in length. Requires a 30T Torx to remove.

Technically, M6-1.0x25. ??

If it were me, I would just order one from my local Ford dealer for several reasons. The first is that the screw is not fully threaded and has a minor diameter pilot. The second is that it has a captive fender washer to prevent damage to the plastics. The third is purely cosmetic. Do you really want an ugly plated hex head hardware store bolt plainly visible? ??

Does anyone know if it's the same bolt (Ford part # W719848-S307) for a 2025 MME GT? Given my proclivity for botching even the simplest of mechanical tasks, it sounds like I might want to order a couple of these to have on hand.

There are two different screws that are used to hold in the frunk tub on the 2024-2025. There are four machine screws and two sheetmetal screws. The sheetmetal screws are the two near the frunk latch. ??

I’ve had the frunk tubs out and back into my 2021 and 2024 so many times (dozens of times each) and haven’t cross-threaded or stripped any of the screws. As @E90400K said if the machine screw was stripped as it came out, it was likely cross-threaded on install and it’d be a good idea to chase the threads with a tap before putting in the new screw. ??

Correct and that is the one I posted the part number for in a previous post above. I did not post the part number for the bolts that are close to the latch.

I had to remove the frunk tub on my 2023 MME GT, and most of the screw heads were stripped. It took some effort, but I managed to get them out. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, I was able to track down the OEM replacement hardware. I plan to reinstall the frunk with new screws and bolts.

• 4 × Part # W716890-S450B – Headlamp Assembly Screw
  • Type: Sheet-metal screw
  • Head: Torx T-30
• 2 × Part # W719848-S307 – Storage Compartment Bolt
  • Type: Machine screw, M6 × 1.0 × 25 mm
  • Head: Torx T-30
