Oh, you want it motorized? That's probably a cost saving and an expectation the Frunk won't get used as much as the hatch. Note that even the rear hatch isn't motorized on the Select and CA Rt 1.

First World problems.
Speaking of First World problems, I just want the Mega Power Frunk to have a celebration mode that opens and closes the Frunk while flashing colors and roaring like a t-rex....just saying.

Oh, that would be really cool, especially if the frunk was motor controlled opening and closing. I can see it opening and closing slowly...the roar...and oh, add t-rex teeth to it too. ;)

Just wait, someone will do this and post a video. Pimping out out the MME.

Has it been confirmed that EU regulations required Ford to implement an all-electronic front trunk hood release mechanism in the Mustang Mach E?
No. And I’m not about to learn legal research for the EU, I don’t have that many years left. ;)

its posted “here,” “somewhere,” by “someone” living in the EU.

To misquote Mission Impossible, “Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find that regulation and translate it into American English and give proper context. Should you or any member of your frunk team be caught or killed, @Administrator will disavow any knowledge of your action. This post will self delete in 5 seconds! Good luck @Jimrpa!”

But in the EU the Mach E DOES have a remote frunk release, or at least it’s going to because they have a frunk button on their fobs.
Oh boy I wish that was true - mega touchy subject here in the UK. We didn’t even get a Mustang branded key, let alone one with a frunk button on it! ?

Small mercies - we did get two keys - but only because they disabled all our PAAK functionality as well. Hate EU/UK legislation sometimes.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Frunk - electronic open and close - why didn't they? B74D1939-6FD5-453F-81F8-791A6F62CAE0

Oh come on now, you mean to tell me this is the first absurdly rhetorical question you’ve seen from me? ???
Clearly, from what I’ve seen here, nobody has any direct, first-hand knowledge of what the actual screwup was and what Ford has to do to dig themselves out of the front trunk release hole ? but wild speculation is fun!

I actually did look at the US regulation regarding trunks and the regulation sized children trapped therein. It was clear to me that there was a possible regulatory issue depending upon the mood of the person at the NHTSA in charge of trunk release reviews the particular morning this crossed their desk.

But blame Brussels, that worked for the English in 2016, it could work here!

The only thing I’ll say about British politics is that they have some neat castles and the Queen is really cool!

It might be an update/upgrade in the GTs but anyone who has a Mach-e now will most likely not see it. The Frunk is operated with a cable, not electric. No software update can change that.

It's a cable release but it is also electronically activated. That's how you can open it if the battery is dead with the two leads behind the cover in the bumper. And the emergency release in the frunk (once they get safety approval from regulators to turn that on) — the big glow in the dark electronic button.

Matt, I'm not aware of that. Would you be able to post a picture of where this emergency release is behind the bumper?

Thank you

The wires are behind the little door on the right side of the bumper cover. The place where many other vehicles have a threaded hole to screw a tow hook in.
