I use the cord that came with the Mach e and have had no issues. I wondered why people buy expensive charger attachments rather than just using the 240V plug-What is the advantage?
one advantage is leaving the supplied charge adapter in the car so that if I need it away from home unexpectedly I have more charge options.

For me, I like to always have the Ford charger in the vehicle. It would be a real pain to have to unplug from the wall, roll everything up and tuck it away nicely, early in the morning, with coffee mug, lunch kit, backpack etc.

The Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) is notoriously unreliable. Its thermal design is exceedingly poor, causing it to damage itself over time. Many members here have had thermal overrun issues ranging from throttled charging speeds to completely faulted-out charging sessions. The FMC is just fine for occasional use, but so many people have reported issues (especially in high ambient temperatures) that I would say you are much better off with a dedicated L2 EVSE in your garage, while keeping the FMC for occasional use on the road. ??

It wasn’t cheap
Cheaper than a ChargePoint or JuiceBox. That's why people are buying them. You don't see thread after thread about issues with those charger brands.

I had an issue with my Grizzl-E and when I contacted Tech Support they sent me a replacement with 1 week (delivered). Overall, I am very happy with the unit and the service. The original was installed in May 2021 two months after the Mach-E arrived.

There's a lot of issues with the included charger.

I’ve had my dumb version for almost a year now with no issues, charges almost every day.
I know the mini had issues with the mach e when it came out, I wonder if they updated the firmware or electronics recently.

The only issues I've run into with my Grizzl-e was an overheating issue at the nozzle. It wasn't clearly determined if it was the MME charge port or the evse that initially caused the issue, but after multiple failures and a nozzle got enough to burn my hand, I had both replaced.

I started having the same issue, red light blinks 10 times - over current fault. Checked my breaker and wiring, everything was good on my end. I put in a support request explaining the issue and they sent out a replacement right away that I received within a week, popped the faulty one in the box and sent it back - all good.
This is the replacement. And it went out completely. Very frustrated. Calling them again.

They did OTA updates, now it is out completely.

I've been considering the Grizzl-E Smart. I haven't pulled the trigger yet (waiting on Black Friday). Honestly, I like the design of it. It is also one of the highest-rated chargers by the State of Charge guy on Youtube who reviews a lot of these units.

The Juicebox is more expensive and I am not fond of the design. They also fail, but it appears that (from this form only) they fail less than the Grizzl-E chargers with the Mach-E. The other charger I am considering is the Emperia charger, but they are newer to the game and dont have the history.

"Yous gets what yous pay for"

Never an issue with my JuiceBox.

I've had. Juicebox 48 for 1.5 years, never a single issue.

If returning is a possibility, I'd suggest trying out the Juicebox. All the good customer service in the world won't charge your Mach-E.

They aren't that much cheaper, it's only the cost of it not having the smart features. The build quality is very good.

If you need smart features, maybe get a juicebox, the smart grizzl-e I think has had some software issues, most people have the dumb version which is fine, the car does all the smart stuff so it really is redundant to have a smart EVSE for most people.

I am on my second dumb GrizzlE. First lasted a month back in Merch 21. This one has started failing at the end of the charge cycle. The car stops charging at 90% or whatever it is set to and the GrizzlE faults out and requires a power cycle to use again. This happens most of the time now.

I think I will be going with an Emporia 48amp unit next. It appears we can still get the 30% credit with the Feds so that helps.
